Palmer, Alaska

Palmer is a quaint little town. Beautiful flowers everywhere. We all took a breathtaking walk through the gardens here.

I had to take pictures of these to share with everyone. They really take advantage of the short growing season to create beautiful flowers and vegetables.

So much color and beautifully designed gardens.

More gorgeous flowers.

I loved this boot arrangement.

They had vegetables growing in the gardens too. Have you ever seen peanut plants? They grow in the ground.

Here we are at Mountain View RV Park in Palmer, Ak.

Here are the managers/owners of Mt View RV Park. Really nice people. Probably our most favorite camp we've been in. This mound is part wild flowers and vegetable garden. Very pretty.

Bob was having a nice relaxing day. Had a few beers and took a picture of the pretty clouds. He wanted to share them with you. They sure are pretty clouds, huh?

We had a beautiful day at the Farmer's Market in Palmer.

These Mormon ladies were selling their veggies. The prices of fresh vegetables here are unreal. Tomatoes $5.00/lb, green beans $6.99/lb, cukes $2.50 each, and zukes $3.00 each. They have no trouble selling at these prices.

Oh boy! These tomatoes are on sale. Marked down from $7 to $6.00/lb.

Our next stop was a huge farm where you pick your own vegetables. Bob had never had kohlrabi before so he picked on to try. They gave us a taste of one. It kind of tastes like a mild radish. She said you can eat them raw or they are great on the grill.

Sue, Joe and Bob dug some potatoes. They also got broccoli, zucchini, lettuce, cabbage, spinach and rhubarb.

  1. Beautiful flowers! I love kohlrabi. To me they taste like the core of a cabbage. We grow them here in Alberta.
