Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake, Yukon Territory

Today we visited the Sign Post Forest. There are over 75,000 signs. Over 2,000 are posted every year since it originated.

Bob, Sue & Joe

Row after row of posts with signs from every state and Canadian Province and many from other countries.

Every thing imaginable has been used to make a sign. We saw a flip flop, a bra, frying pan, hubcap, hand painted, special made signs and street signs.

Bob and I posted a Madisonville, Tennessee-Monroe County license plate with our names etched into it.

Sign Post Forest originated back in 1942 when the Alaskan Highway was being built. These 2 soldiers started the very first post. The Army Corp of Engineers spent months away from family and loved ones.

  1. That is a whole lot of signage all in one area! Seeing a sign post out of its normal place is a pretty interesting sight. Seems like a fun place to visit
