We left Watson Lake before 6 AM because the trip was almost 300 miles to Whitehorse. The scenery was spectacular. Many sno-capped mountains, beautiful lakes and rivers.
Once we arrived in Whitehorse, we visited the Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center for information about the biggest city and Capital of the Yukon Territory.
This paddle boat, the S.S. Klondike, was built in 1929. It was the largest sternwheeler on the upper Yukon River. It could carry 75 passengers and 23 crew. It was used to carry cargo between Dawson City and Whitehorse.
We all got to tour through the whole boat. We saw the kitchen, dining rooms, cabins and engine area. Pretty neat.
This is the view from the bridge looking up the Yukon River. The Klondike had to pass through this narrow opening. Wow!

This is (I think) a C-67 airplane. After it retired, it was placed on this swiveling pedestal. It is considered the "largest weather vane". Always points into the wind. We could actually see it rotate with the changing wind current. Unbelievable!
You look cold, but the scenery is gorgeous!
